Tablet WeavingTablet (card) weaving is an ancient, off-loom weaving technique that can be used to create narrow textiles such as straps, belts, or trim. The patterns can run from simple geometric to complex double-face. In this class you will learn the basics of tablet weaving including reading a pattern, warping and weaving on cards, and how to chart your own patterns. Everyone in the class will start with simple 10-card pattern and then have a chance to choose and warp as second 20-card pattern.

Student Materials List: Scissors, a sturdy belt (leather is good) that fits, 160 yards of embroidery floss (or similar) in 2 colors you like (15-20 skeins or the equivalent weight warp thread), pen or sharpie marker, a small stick shuttle (optional).

Please bring $10.00 for weaving supplies that will be provided for you.
