Cables and Celtic Knots PhotHave you ever wanted to knit cables, but thought they were too difficult? In this class you will discover that these skills are rather easy. We will start with easier cables and advance to Celtic Knots. You will also be shown how to read symbols used in aran knitting charts (both old and new symbols).

Sample 1: CO 16 stiches. Knit 4 rows in garter stitch. Row 5 (RS): K4, P12, K4. Row 6 (WS): Knit across. Leave on needle with yarn attached.

Sample 2: CO 13 stiches. Knit 4 rows in garter stitch. Put stitches on holder with yarn attached.

Sample 3: CO 21 stiches. Knit 4 rows in garter stitch. Put stitches on holder with yarn attached.

Sample 4: CO 31 stiches. Knit 4 rows in garter stitch. Row 5 (RS): K3, P25, K3. Row 6 (WS): Knit across. Put stitches on holder with yarn attached.

Student Materials List: Sorry, but there is homework (see samples 1 through 4 above) that will need to be completed before the beginning of this class! These samples will need to be completed with a smooth, worsted weight yarn in a light color (divided into 4 small balls) and worked in size 7 or 8 needles (DPNs, SPNs or circulars). You will also need 1 to 2 cable needles or spare DPNs.

Please bring $2.00 for printed instructions that will be provided for you. Exact change will be appreciated!
