Dyeing, Rovings and Fibers with Mother Mackenzie's Dyes
Taught by Lonna Alexander-Steele

Saturday - All day, beginning at 9:00am
Class Fee: $65

Using Mother MacKenzie’s Acid Dyes, this class will focus on techniques used to produce color safely on fibers and roving without felting or damage to the fiber. We will explore what happens when the base fiber is not white, low water immersion dying, microwave dying, and crockpot dyeing. Dyes will be in dry form and in pre-mixed liquid form for this class. Students will receive a variety of fibers and roving and are encouraged to bring items from their own stash.

Material fee of $25. Bring old clothes or an apron, good rubber or Nitrile gloves, note taking and labeling materials, plastic bags to transport damp fibers and roving, and fiber from your stash for dyeing.
