This is a fairly easy pattern, but each student needs to know how to knit, purl, k2tog, ssk and yo. We will be using and reading from a chart, but this is not a chart class. Written out instructions will be available but for the class a chart will be used. Bring a fingering weight (440 yds/100 grams) solid LIGHT colored yarn and needles two sizes larger than the yarn recommends. Size 4, if your tension is average, if unsure bring several sizes and we will talk about which to use. The pattern is written for a scarf or shawl. You will need one skein for the scarf and three skeins for the shawl. A pattern will be included.

Materials needed: 2 stitch markers, row counter, magnet board and chart row marker, if you have one. Bring 1 skein for a scarf, 3 skeins for a shawl.
